RAW CACAO RECIPES

All our cacao recipes are only based on the cold-processed raw cacao ingredients, and not the heated versions that you can buy in supermarkets. These raw cacao recipes will provide you an easy access to delicious and healthy drinks and foods.

Raw cacao is the purest form of chocolate, which is filled with multiple nutrients. It is believed to be the highest source of antioxidants and magnesium in the world, that are found directly from food. Commercial cocoa on the contrary, is the term used for the heated form of cacao. It contains only a small fraction of the nutrients, compared to raw cacao. Therefore we recommend only the consumption of the raw version.

All cacao products come from the cacao beans, that are found from the pods of cacao tree. Cacao beans are fermented and can be enjoyed as such. Cacao beans can also be processed to several different cacao products, such as cacao nibs, cacao powder, cacao paste and cacao butter. Cacao nibs are crushed cacao beans, which contain all the nutrients that cacao has to offer. Cacao butter is pure cacao fat, which is cold pressed from raw cacao beans. Cacao butter can be used both internally and externally, and it is decently high in antioxidants, iron, magnesium and vitamin E. When cacao butter is produced from cacao beans, the remaining part is used to make a cacao paste and cacao powder, which are both rich in multiple nutrients.

Raw cacao may help stimulate the blood flow in the dermal skin layer and may help hydrate the skin from the inside out. Raw cacao may also protect the skin from harmful UV rays, decrease skin roughness and improve the elasticity and density of the skin.
